Your post adds nothing to the previous 266. Did you actually read any part of this thread?

So, few on this forum despise snowbirds and the rest of us gets thrown in that pie? Could someone please explain that. :duck:

Odd. In my experience Canadians as a whole are some of the politest, most respectful folks around.

It’s only on lap two. Few more to go.

And you have all these well looked after properties all around. It is like being at a high end resort.

So you’d rather them live here full time? I LOVE snowbirds for the very reason you just said people don’t like them.

A "Canuckaphobe".

Noted most of the comments were regarding TV. Have lived in Florida for 64 years ago and term snowbird stated way before TV. Most of the complaints about snowbirds are due to increased traffic. In S. Florida a lot of complaints(anecdotal) were about New Yorkers and their drving.

After living in 4 different parts of Florida, there does seem to be much higher percentage of "snow birds" in TV than in other parts of the state.

We should never complain about snowbirds in Florida. The taxes they pay probably contributes to the non necessity of raising taxes in Florda.

I have a Canadian friend who always reminds me that 466A is the "Canadian Highway"...

I haven't read all the responses, but I would expect people who prefer schedules/routines and don't like change, find that the winter months' routines have a less predictability, and their routines and schedules are less reliable. . . this causes them stress, its a characteristic of a personality type.

However, as GOM said, its tribalism, the need to feel part of a group, and a group that makes one special. Everyone with weak egos, look for ways to convince themselves that they are part of a special group, whatever that group is which they choose to assume they are a part of. . your tribe

I wouldn't take other people's dysfunction personally, that is the key to surviving amongst the small crazy people who post here stuff they wouldn't say in public. .

The OP may be overly sensitive, if so, limit your time here, etc, as your mind can play tricks on you. Your mind will assume that if you read a negative article a day, your mind will being to believe that ALL of TV is bad, yet that may be from a very small minority, or even one person like frose. . . so i applaude the moderator's determination to keep a close eye on all the posts. .

'despised' is a pretty strong word

I look forward to the neighbors on our street returning from Canada, New York, Wisconsin and hopefully soon from Iceland.

I do know that people get pretty frustrated when a snowbird fails to make the necessary arrangements to have their yard taken care of while they're away and it becomes an eyesore for everyone...but IMHO I suspect that usually only happens once by a first time buyer

"Why are Snowbirds so despised?"

What this poster meant was: "Why are Snowbirds so LOVED."

You nailed it.
