Then you should eat inside where you are guaranteed a non-smoking environment.
It hasn't been that long that smokers could enjoy a smoke while waiting for their meal or having a smoke with their coffee INSIDE restaurants. The compromise was that smokers could smoke in OUTSIDE eating areas.

Do other personal freedoms offend you as well? While I'm not a smoker, as long as it's legal it's their right. You always have the option to move your golf cart, that's your right

You chose to sit in a "smoking section" (outside the perimeter of the square). Maybe you should sit in the no smoking area inside the square.

What makes you think that?

OK OK OK ...... For all those anti smokers, anti BO, anti fart, anti cologne people.
If you had it your way, the logical ending would be for those with bad breath, not to be allowed to breathe.

Give it a break.

What a wonderful life you must lead when such a small issue is your problem. I feel sure that many of your friends put up with you despite your obvious lack of kindness and understanding just because they are willing to tolerate you just the way you are and accept your small mindlessness.

Wow! That's not an elitist statement at all! This coming from someone that can't spell Diamond correctly.

FWIW, I'm an occasional cigar smoker. Maybe every couple weeks or once a month. At the squares, I like to sit in the breezeways between the rear parking lots and the road around the square itself. As to your "educated" statement, I have a master's degree from an esteemed and renowned private 4-year NCAA Div I university (rhymes with Trojans) and lifetime membership in Mensa. Plus, I do not lean left at all. You might want to rethink some of your assumptions.

It's insane / unnatural / perverted.

What's a little cigar smoke among neighbors who aren't trying to pervert the next generation?

I can see you don’t travel and certainly don’t go out anywhere except the villages. Most high end places in big cities don’t have male/female restrooms, they have “restrooms” Most normal people’s brain’s don’t go to the perverted place yours does. Yikes. Ew.

Just proves his point.

I agree that second hand smoke, especially cigar smoke is disgusting. But smokers have rights as well and we need to accommodate them. What if someone objected to the "noise" from the bands. We would tell them to go where it is not so loud.
I would support limiting the smoking areas even further but it would be a hardship for some Villagers to have no place to go. Many folks down here have been smoking for 50 or more years and would find it very hard to quit.

I think older people tend to be more sensitive to smoke. Older lungs etc. when it comes to body smell, they may not be able to do anything about it, a medical condition etc. when it comes to smoking, that is voluntary. I agree that there should be designated areas for smokers. Definitely, not an easy habit to quit even if they wanted to.

Nah. Just that most of the ones that did smoke probably passed before they age qualified to live here. (BTW, I smoked for 40+ years and live here. Only had to donate a lung lobe for the privilege. I know, TMI).

If you lived in CA you’d be fine. They banned smoking on public sidewalks and outdoor spaces years ago.
