Indeed.com is a good site. Put in your criteria—p/t, driver, the villages, and they will give a list of jobs available. Sign up for email notifications and they’ll send you new jobs that come up. My husband was a driver local taxi company and for an assisted living complex. I’ve seen other interesting driver jobs that don’t deal with general public—medical labs, auto parts. Good luck.

You would think with a Community like The Villages, that there would be lots of jobs. However, we are nestled in communities that have no employment so many of those part-time jobs would be taken up by the locals. The average income around us in the last quoted numbers was $17,500 per year. We have a well educated college daughter, who is here for six months before she takes her full-time job and even she has only had a single request for an interview. ( she did avoid restaurant work which would have helped). If you look at McDonald’s, they often have a janitor position Publix in the past had late night stocking positions not the type that you were talking about. So you have to be alert and responsive to try to get anything that is probably more menial than you would expect.

Also check what flexibility there is with the local businesses, there are few corporations to set that model. I interviewed with one of the larger players and they offered vacation days after 1 year and most require weekends and or evenings. I asked one if I could leave an hour early on a slow rainy day to meet our daughter at the airport and was told absolutely not.

That’s has been the largest shock/disappointment of moving here. We were in the tech space and our jobs were eliminated with the last slowdown so we have had 5 jobs in our first year here. 4 of them local.

I am very fortunate to have landed at Custom Windows and Exterior Design where they let you take time off for a quick doc trip or family emergency. Very very unusually generous and understanding. Cover those bases first if you are looking to enjoy your lifestyle.

Don't want to break rocks. Maybe a delivery job of some sort. Where do I look or should I pound the pavement. Thanks. Bud

Deliver food for Doordash and Ubereats. You set your own hours, work unsupervised and still make money as an independent contractor.
