If you like the sound of wind chimes listen to them on your headphones... don’t make EVERYBODY else listen to them too.

We have a set that we use only when we use the lanai. My wife cut up a pool noodle into small sections that slide over the individual pipes and prevent the striker from contacting them. We place those on the chimes whenever we’re not outside. We never leave the chiming when we’re not there and we don’t leave them chiming for more than a half hour or so even when we’re out there.

Thoughtful and considerate.

They loved it and we had to go 2 more times (ahhh, the days of the A, B,C D, E tickets) . From what I understand it's still the same but they are supposedly "updating" it. Every time we go now my wife dares me to take it again.

My family once got stuck on it! WE were stuck but the blasted music kept going on and on and on and....😱

I can’t stand wind chimes either!
I would agree they should be banned! Especially with each & every neighbor having
several each!😡
No sense at all!

Be thankful for the nearly constant breeze that cuts the heat.
For the constant and incessant complainers, buy some cheese on your next grocery run. It will go perfectly with your whine.

I don't consider myself "cranky". I just value serenity, especially when the serenity I seek is in my own home.

Did it really work for the Homeless in Waikiki? Moved from Honolulu 2 yrs ago homeless is a huge problem Didn't think anything could disperse them.

i

Is the "where ever" on you property too? If that is the case, I would gather up the poops and place them right outside their front door. Speaking to them about the issues seems futile. I hope they would get the message.

True Windchimes should sound as a lovely chord does on a piano. I happen to have a windchime in the key of C. Each chime is a part of a C chord. Lovely.

The sound of a lovely cord on the piano is enchanting. However, not knowing when the next lovely cord will chime from a wind chime in is an absolute distraction to me. And.......that is 24/7 as long as there is a breeze. HATE THOSE DAMN THINGS!!!!!

Yes it worked while they played the music, they also used the “Baby Shark” song. The Hawaiians seem very partial to their homeless and generally gentle with them. Several are full time workers, your grocery clerk, bank teller etc who cannot afford the expensive accommodations. Then there are the mentally ill, and druggies and they like to come to Waikiki where the rich tourists are.

another take on wind chimes

May I suggest watching “Body Heat” (1981) and you will never again hear wind chimes without thinking of that movie.

It is set in Florida and and the weather is not the only thing steamy. “Body Heat” stars Kathleen Turner and William Hurt. Richard Crenna is in it, too, as the rich husband.

William Hurt is a lawyer and damned dumb — not thinking with his brain.

No way are you going to hear wind chimes, which is absolutely fine by me!

Just a FYI many here have no idea what a rookery/jackdaws are. We do ,have close ties with the UK,( family ).

A Rookery ( Rooks) and Jackdaws are a natural sound, compared the artificial very annoying sound of windchimes.

Plus they are entertaining and very clever as you know. :)

me too very relaxing nothing like a good windchime...
