When looking at "new posts" if you don't want to see the for sale and political posts just hit the hide classifieds button and they do not appear.

I read that somewhere here on TOTV and just tried it.

I have Windows 7 and use Firefox, and this does not work the way it used to. Used to be you could hide classifieds and they would not return, ever, unless you clicked on Show Classifieds. And, political posts never showed up, ever, because I never opted in to political posts.

As it happens currently, the minute I go to another part of the forum (for instance, Today's Posts or the search engine) and come back to New Posts, there they are again, the politicals and the classifieds. Also, they are on Today's Posts as well.

So I don't believe the problem is fixed yet and wonder if they are still trying. Updates sure are a crap shoot.

Yes I failed to mention that everytime one leaves the home page and comes back you have to click hide classifieds each time.
