LOL In Palm Springs we called them LOPs (little old people). It was said they used the hood ornament on their Cadillacs and M-Bs as a sighting device for the lane markings so they drove down the middle.


And now we ARE LOPs. OMG!

I'm sorry I miss-read you. My "this is just a joke antenna" must have been down last night. I'm usually pretty good at picking up on that. My kids were in for a visit and went back home. I think I was sorry to see them go so I was a little down. I hope you understand.

And I'm sorry you fell out of a tree a some time ago too. That must have hurt.

I lived in Boston for 2 years. I went there for a promotion. The first day I drove to work and back home is the day I started looking for a job somewhere else. It took two years almost to the day but I got out.

LOL....That's why we have circles here in TV. If we stop, we may not start again!

I'm sorry you didn't like Boston, Mike. It's my favorite city between June- August. Great college town and a heart attack to drive in.

Boston drivers definitely do some amazing things like exit a four lane expressway from the far left lane, but they do have some redeeming characteristics. They do have a good sense of where the other cars are on the road so you can feel somewhat comfortable passing them and not getting cut off. I drove for over thirty years up there. Accidents were numerous due to the aggressive driving, but I believe traffic fatalities were not the highest. I don't know the reason for that.

It's tough to die in an accident if you are already a member of the "living dead.". Dead people vote in elections in Boston all the time so it's only fitting to believe they drive to the polls. (This is not a political statement.)

I for one think that Boston drivers are amongst the best in the country. I spent about 26 years there and the road system is horrendous and yet the drivers somehow manage. The traffic is heavy and if you need to move , you must pull out when opportunity exists. The Boston drivers know this and will stop. Non Boston drivers will keep moving and crash.
Having spent 26 years in Boston, I feel as though I have learned defensive driving well. I worry more about southern drivers and Midwestern drivers who have never had the experience of Boston
In fact there has only been one Boston driver who has ever had an accident in The Villages. And he just smacked into a car with a Wisconsin Plate and a cheese on the top last night. He claimed pass interference.

In fact my favorite bumper sicker is from Wisconsin. It reads "Honk if You Love Cheeses."

That funny story would be believable except for one fact, dbussone... Nobody in the Midwest uses turn signals!:shocked:

I'm watching a national news network tonight and was surprised to hear a segment on Senior drivers. It was very positive. According to the report seniors are very safe drivers. Yep, that's what the stats say. As they say, "put that in your pipe and smoke it".

Perhaps we complain too much.

I looked that up. The study was by AAA. It said seniors are more likely to wear seat belts, be sober, not drive will using a cell phone or play music. Seniors want more testing and health screening for drivers over 75.
