Default A question about type of trash to put out.

They have taken just about anything we have put out to date. Do you know if they will take an old television set....26" table top set?

Don't know for sure, but you can call the trash company....telephone number is on your bill...and find out. Sometimes larger objects are picked up separately, but you have to ask. Mom in law had a livingroom chair....they send another truck for those types of pickups.

I think electronics are classified as hazardous waste because of lead, etc., in the components. Best Buy has an electronics recycling. Just take the TV to the customer service desk and I think they will take it. I would definitely call them first. 26" TVs are heavy!

Bill,

I have been here a number of year. It seems that if you can get it to the curb, they will take it. I have put TV's out. Good luck

I've put TV's out even on non pick-up days and they would be gone in the morning.

If the TV works, put a large note on it saying, "FREE, WORKS." It will be gone in no time flat. If it doesn't work, write "broken," and it will probably still be gone. The garbage men are pretty good about taking them if no one else does -- there is room in the front for one or two articles.

Default Update! I put it out at the curb Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday morning before the trash was picked up....it was gone. I put a sign on it "still works".

Someone that needs it will make good use of it.

I have put a 2 large tv's out and they took them. This week my neighbor put 2 toilets out and they picked them up. But they wouldn't take my shower bar - go figure.

Ummmmmm shouldn't we be PC and refer to them as "Sanitation Engineers"? Refuse Rangers? Trash Technicians? Recycling Rovers? Waste Warriors? Collection Captains? Dumpster Divas?

Just a thought. One more day closer to TV.....14 days!
