If you can get tickets to Gainesville, Florida on Delta or American you won't have to brave the crowded Orlando and Tampa area. I typically fly in and out of Gainesville, and most of the time the tickets are around the same price as Orlando or Tampa.

We use Allegiant Air flying into Sanford, Fl. You have to check though where is the closest airport for you that has Allegiant Air. For us it is even closer than the major hubs. Usually MUCH cheaper also! Sanford is nice too since it is a small regional airport and a nice drive to The Villages 9about 50 miles). There are shuttle services that you can also use if you call or contact me and I can tell you who we use. It runs about $50 one way to your home.

Southwest has a direct flight out of Orlando.
I am not a big fan of Southwest but a direct flight is so much better.

Gainesville is about an hour and a half away.

There are shuttles running to and from The Villages all of the time from Orlando. You have to book them ahead of time.

From what area will you be coming?

I fly Jet Blue --- they have direct flight from Richmond, Va. to Orlando and Orlando to Richmond---I believe once a day. Have always gotten very reasonable flights---I went a week before Christmas---paid about 101.00 and then came back to The Villages a week after Christmas and flight was 91.00 and they don't charge for your first bag. I then take the Village Transportation Shuttle back to the Villages.

The person asked about flights to LV not Richmond! Who cares about Richmond. The only direct flights are Southwest out of Orlando or Tampa.
