We are looking for a new home or villa in the southern areas although are not adverse to a pre-owned if the price and condition are right. Still a new home after all these years is pretty enticing. I've cleaned enough house and am now hoping for something fairly small. Bonita?? Amarillo?? Does anyone know if there are plenty available in say Hadley or Hemingway? Any advice on things to look out for as far as location (downwind of the chicken farm or something)
Has anyone had a problem with closing by mail?? It's getting a tad expensive to keep running to Florida from Rhode Island. Thanks Coco

Yes, there are pleanty available.... nice villas in Bonita and hemmingway is loaded with smaller homes. You'll have no problem. Remember... you can always rent for 3-6 mos until you find the perfect home.

I bought an Amarillo in Hemingway, with a fenced-in backyard for the dog. There are plenty of new homes here and the prices are reasonable for this market. Very close to Publix, Walgreens, and places to eat...and near the new Havana Club. Still a lot of construction, but that will end...someday. The new villas have mostly concrete in the enclosed courtyards, so if you don't want a lot of yard work that would be good. The ranch homes have small yards. Also, there are designer homes (a few more upgrades and nicer landscaping) for, in many cases, not a whole lot more money than the basic ranch home, you might want to look at those, too. Good luck
