Benefits
Hi, all.
We are coming to house hunt in August and September (getting really excited). We are not golfers, but yes, we're coming anyway because of everything else TV has to offer! We had no problem finding a nice house to rent while we look to buy, but we're feeling somewhat overwhelmed with all the choices - not so much type of homes as the number of villages. We are planning to look mainly at designer homes. So...my challenge to you "established TV'ers" is: why should I look at houses in the village you live in? What makes your village special? In other words, here is your chance to brag about why the neighborhood is THE best place to live in TV. So...brag away... |

Re: Benefits
Reader,
Below are links to 3 prior discussions about this topic. From the search link above, I typed "which village" into the keyword search box and quickly located these 3 topics. As you will see from reading these, there really are no bad locations. If you are buying new, you are limited to where they are building. If looking at a resale, the world is your oyster. Determine what is important to you to be near (or not to be near) then zero in on that area. If you will be renting for 2 months, you'll have ample opportunity to look around. Many folks come here and make their buying decision within a week. Good Luck. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/sm...ic,7826.0.html https://www.talkofthevillages.com/sm...pic,780.0.html https://www.talkofthevillages.com/sm...ic,7488.0.html

Re: Benefits
Thanks a lot - those links are very helpful! I can hardly wait to get down there and start our search in person rather than just looking at houses via internet.

Re: Benefits
We're one of those noted above who bought within a week (2nd visit though!).
And we don't golf either. We wanted and bought a new villa in Hemmingway. We like the location long term as it's within a mile of the Publix center, about 3 miles due south of Lake Sumter Landing (using Canal St. which is one of the quieter main roads, IMHO) and easy access south to the turnpike and I-75. Longer term when TV builds out, we'll be near the middle. That said, all of the various villages are friendly, well kept and very nice and if a resale would have caught our eye, it would have been no problem moving into one of those. Good luck. |
