During the winter when the fairways are bone dry, have very little grass and the rough is dormant and very short, a low draw off the T will run out forever. In the middle of the summer rain season, between the wet ground and the nasty Bermuda rough, most drives stay just about where they land. I would guess that my average driving distance is about 35 yards longer during the winter. And in the winter the golfer never has to hack their ball out of a buried lie in the rough just to get back onto the fairway. My average score is probably 5 - 8 strokes lower per round in the winter.
