we did!! we learned all we needed to know thru skip smith's you tube channel. we sold the house, threw the dogs in the back seat & never looked back. best decision we ever made.

Did they ever finish the big dig? That plus I 95 construction in Ct hold the world record.

27/441 is aiming to beat them apparently.

Best of luck, we are also from the Boston area and hope to be living in the villages come Jan or Feb. visited this year and loved it.

While looking at the responses here, I am reminded of all the whining people who love to post on TOTV. Some people need to recalibrate how they look at the world, especially considering that WE LIVE IN A FANTASTIC PLACE where thousands of people move to each year.

We love it here and you will too! Welcome!

Just moved in 3 days ago, awesome. Don't hear traffic, only trains off in the distance, but lots of construction, which only lasts so long. We are close to so much here and very happy. Safe journeys!!

Welcome! I moved here in 2001 and never regretted it. My only advice is to take it a little slow. Don't join too many clubs because you could get burned out trying to do it all. I've slowed down a bit over the years, but I still love it here as much as when I first arrived. I hope for it to be my forever home. Enjoy everything a little at a time.

dont let the naysayers get to you. Noise and other distractions are up to the individual. Ssu and utility bills, that's another issue

Welcome, As a former Bostonian I can only say you will love it. Road noise is road noise and if you lived anywhere near a main road, you will adjust quickly

Big Dig is "finished".

Latest boondoggle is shutting down the entire Orange line and part of the Green line subway for a full month for repairs, starting next week. An Orange line train caught fire on a bridge over the mystic river a few weeks ago. One woman even jumped into the river from the bridge. About a 100 foot drop.

With lots of people still working from home I don't think the T gets as much ridership as it used to but it's crazy to shut down an entire line for a month.

You're going to love it don't worry. You'll love things that you didn't even think about before you moved here.

It’s done but traffic is just under the city instead of above it
