Default Is there a cemetery in the Villages?

Probably not a popular topic, but is there a cemetary in the Villages? We just returned from visit and have decided to move there, so lots of questions are popping into my head (keeping a notebook!).

St Georges Episcapal church has a Columbarium.

Yes, graciegirl. It's on Griffin Road on the side of the church. I'm thinking that's for ashes. There are lots of names on the black Column.

Default scatter my ashes to the wind

Does anyone know whether it is legal to scatter ones ashes in the ocean? I hate the idea of taking up space after I pass away.

I do not have a firm answer....but........GO FOR IT.

My wifes' Parents were scattered from a hired 65 footer complete with crew.
The whole "fam-damily" came from across the country.

From Marina we went close to their favorite "Summer Spot".....
.....right up to where the dolphin swim up and down the coast daily.
We enjoyed a visit from a pod of about 30 dolphin during the
ON Board ceremonies...
..............the Dolphin stayed with us for for quite some time......
..it was almost as if they were being polite and did not want to leave
during the ceremony.

We also had a MAJOR balloon release at Sunset....
..................(while the TIDE swept along our feet).....
......... finished the evening with a Celebration of Life on Beach.....
.........................................reminisci ng about the good old days.

We got permits from Coast Guard to approach the dolphin runway........
.....got permits from Airport and Feds for the timing of Balloon Release..
.....bought "special permit" from the Town to legalize a Bonfire on Beach.

When we asked Coast Guard if it was OK to sprinkle the ashes ............
...................she answered with her hands doing the..........
...................SEE no Evil....HEAR no Evil...SPEAK no Evil routine,
...................followed by a Thumbs up, a Smile, a pat on the back...
...................then the words......................" So sorry for you loss"
