Question Crafts booth evenings in town squares

I'm wondering who to call if someone wished to have a crafts booth on both of the town square (Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter).

My niece, who lives in Argentina, makes a number of trips north each year bringing South American crafts to sell at fairs. I suggested to her that she might like to have a booth at those nights in the two town squares for a week or two. However, I have no clue as to how to go about it. Does anyone know and could they let me know?

Thanks, in advance.

It's a little confusing about who can do what at the town squares. Talk of The Villages inquired about having an information booth at the squares and we were told that "....booths are restricted to residents who make crafts in their homes."

Even that is kinda odd, since selling crafts is a "for profit" endeavor and it's a deed violation to engage in a profit making enterprise in your home.

I have seen lots of people there selling stuff that doesn't appear to be home crafts, like used golf balls and belts and wallets and jewelry.

I'll bet you niece could sell her stuff there without a problem. Call the main information number for the Villages and ask who you should call.

I think most vendors are there long term, trying to do it for a week or two may be a challenge. Why not talk with some of the vendors and see what they have to say. I looked into it a few years ago and was told my product would be in direct competition with a local store front. Now that I've lived here for a while I have observed many products sold that are obviously available at local storefronts.

I don't think there is any requirement to be a resident who makes crafts in their home, I once special ordered an item and the vendor was from north of Ocala.

So, based on TH's response and information I was given I would say it depends on who you talk with at TV. They will take into consideration the phase of the moon, the weather forecast, your golf score today, the year of your automobile, number of children, color of your appliances, speed of your golf cart, and number of posts on TOTV. Then they will flip a coin and decide if you are in or out. Good luck, sorry I don't remember who I spoke with but as TH mentioned, call TV general information number.
