Default Downspout extensions

My Deans guy told me I need to install these as the water from backyard downspouts was flowing onto back yard, washing away pesticide, fertilizer, etc. (another long story). I see I can buy them at hardware stores, but are they hard to put on (I'm mechanically challenged). And are they a uniform size or do you need to measure the girth? Thanks

Couple things.

a) Yes, easy to install. The hardware guy would love to walk you thru the install.

b) Unless you are extending all the way to concrete, the water will continue to wash away, just at a different spot.
