Default electric golf cart..Good choice???

I've rented an electric golf cart for my three months rental in TV. On my lifetime preview visit I had a gas cart and I thought it would be good to try the electric this time to see which one I like better...But, the man at the rental place mentioned something about batteries and water filling - is this going to be a problem. I wish I could say I was very mechanical but I'd be lying so before this thing is delivered, could I have some advise as to if I made a bad choice or not. The man at the rental place said the electric carts are smoother ride and quieter. Any help will be appreciated ... Thanks

Filling the batteries is easy. Get some distilled water and a turkey baster (easiest); prop open the seat; pop open one of the tops on the batteries and see if it needs water -- it should have 1/4 to 1/2 inch in each cell. If it has less than that, add some water with the baster. If you put in too much, just pull some out.

One thing to remember is do NOT fill the battery and then charge it. Charge the cart first and then fill.

Does the rental come with the rental or are you renting separately? If a separate rental, you might want to give Jim Followell a call. He has better carts than you can rent from The Villages and he's cheaper. I'd give you his number but don't have it handy. He is in the phone book.

Oh, and enjoy your visit!
