Question Gas - Where can I find cheap gas?

We are snowbirds staying for the first time in TV, arriving on Dec. 1. Where can we find the cheapest gas within 5 miles of Lady Lake?

Wal-mart on 441/27 in Summerfield is sometimes a little cheaper; sometimes (not always!) we have noticed that the gas stations in Lady Lake, once you are south of TV area, are a little cheaper; sadly no great bargains that we have seen. Walk/drive golf cart more, it's our best revenge, here in TV! (-:

Try this site. http://www.floridastategasprices.com/ Then scroll down on until you see the map of the US and click on the map. You will get an enlarged map of the US and you can use your mouse to move around to anywhere in the US and then use your wheel to zoom in on an area and when you get close enough you will see the gas prices.

One thing about this site and that is that it is updated by local spotters in that area. If no one puts an update to the local prices in the past 96 hours the station is dropped from the map but not from the database. If you look at the right hand corner of the you can change the time limit up or down.

I have checked this site when planning trips and it really helps. Also I have checked for prices in TV and they are not updated very frequently. Here in northern Ohio they get updated daily, if not hourly, as the prices change that quickly.

During my stays in TV I found "in general" the gas at Race Trac on US 37-441 at CR 25 to be the cheapest. Looking at the map today it is shown as bring higher than the others around but the last update there was from Thursday.

Also the Chevron on 466A was always higher than the stations on 466 and at times the difference was 10 or 12 cents per gallon.

$2.63 yesterday, can't remember the station on 27/441 in Leesburg south of 466A. Not that much cheaper...but we saw it and bought it.

Venezuela
The station by Colony is usually 10-15 cents higher than other stations.
I either drive to Wildwood or Fruitland Park.

Default Stick to the topic.... please

If I wanted a political essay, I would have asked for it. Your answer, respectfully, is best displayed elsewhere.

Other TVers .... thanks for your replies.

Has the "political essay" been removed? I read all of the posts but didn't see anything but a direct answer to your question.

The Villages is truly "America's Friendliest Hometown" I think you will see that right away when you arrive and then, IMHO, realize your response to EJP52 was really inappropriate.

In defense of 905home there was a long post that was removed, it was a lecture on not buying from the large chain stores, ie Walmart. Their response was to that posting. Hope this helps to clear things up. A helpful hint when responding use the Quote function then the post will be in your response and will make more sense if it is latter removed, if that make sense. Geez this shouldn't be so complicated.

Default IMHO, 905's response was totally appropriate

IMHO, 905's response was totally appropriate to the diatrabe against big businesses such as Wal-mart and Sam's.

The Wal-mart / Sam's rant was offensive to me and probably others! 905's response was appropiate in TV or anywhere else.

Sorry 905home, I had no idea you were referring to something objectionable enough to be removed.
