Definitely don't walk your pup down by lakes or any body of water for that matter. I see people doing this all the time and I cringe every single time. I saw an extra large gator jump out of a pond trying to bite a landscaper...they could easily take a little dog, leash or no leash. Keep your pup on a leash and very close to you at dawn and dusk especially. We've had several bobcats and coyotes in our backyard as well as a small snake that propelled itself through the air trying to get at us. Never saw anything like it and don't want to again. There's all kinds of critters running around TV but using a little common sense will help to keep our pets safe.
