Default Golf cart gas. New owner.

What type of gas do you put in a golf cart? Is there a special kind?

If you are full time and use your cart frequently and year round, any unleaded gas will be fine. If you are a part time resident and your cart will be sitting for extended periods without use, definitely use ethanol free gas. The villages golf cart gas pumps and WaWa both sell ethanol free gas.

Golf cart motors are low compression, you do not need to run anything but the cheapest gas you can find that has no more than 10% ethanol.

Most newer carts are Fuel injected and can handle just about anything, but there is no upside to putting a higher octane fuel in them.

The newer golf carts have a sticker on the gas tank, ours says E10, which is regular gasoline, and we use 87 octane, no problems, 2017 Yamaha EFI.
