Default Golf Cart - Are There Additional or Unforeseen Fees?

Hello Villagers!

So, I feel like when we move next month to The Villages I REALLY want to buy a used golf cart…

Are there (besides insurance, maintenance, and fuel/charge) additional fees, for cart path usage or taking on the golf course for my multiple golf ball hits/misses or loosing them entirely (not a very good golfer)?

What don’t I know beyond the apparent practically and enjoyment of cart ownership???

Thanks, “Newbie” Jim

If you play golf and want to use your cart there is an annual fee of $143. Insurance is only about $100. Maintenance depends on your use of the Cart. There are over 50,000 golf carts in TV. Join the fun!

People are asking obscene prices for used carts. You have been warned!

Welcome to TV!

Not everyone has insurance, it is the smart thing to do but not required. For 2 carts I think I pay $500 but really don’t remember the cost. If you go electric, you will have the cost of batteries every few years. As said, trail pass for golfing if you plan to use your cart. Other options are a monthly pass for $20 or a pay as you go of $4 per person per round of golf.

There are a couple of “cart rescue” companies here in TV that will pick you and your cart up (if it breaks down) and deliver to your house. I think cost is around $70 a year

Depends on the brand and options you want. There are places other than TV to purchase them.

"24 hour Cart Club" is $35 per year and mention Don Wiley's Gold Wingnut blog and get an extra free month of service...

That fee of $143/year or $4 per round ONLY applies to executive courses. If you are playing the "championship/country club" courses, there is no fee for cart usage

you can also pay $4.00 each time you golf. You don't have to pay yearly
