Barney Beard at Rolling Acres Driving range is an excellent teacher! Patient and personable, he can make you a better golfer in his first lesson - which is free! He starts with your grasp of the basics and goes from there. He also has written a golf book that is simple enough to refresh and improve what you already know. And it's FUNNY! ("Golf for Beginners: How Not to be Embarrassed
at the First Tee") Everytime I see him, I improve!

Default That seems pretty common.

Don't they all do that. It seems to be pretty common. I guess they are all great in their own minds.

Try the female pro at Eagle Ridge. She is the only teaching pro around that does not try to teach everyone the same swing She teaches improving your natural swing and it works. Most pros try to change your swing to emulate "the perfect swing".

Maybe your wife realizes better than you how important the last two inches can be . . . . . just sayin’. 😁

First lesson with Craig he spent the better part of the lesson showing how he hit balls and bragging about how his low handicap is almost identical both left and right handed. Second and last lesson watched him finish the lesson before mine, about 10 minutes late, then exit the facility, get in his vehicle, and drive off for lunch. He might be a good golfer, but not a professional instructor.

For a good lesson see Sandra Chester at Colonial Country Club.

I have used some of the local instructors. However, I found the Internet a great source for golf instructional videos....and for the most part it is free. The nice thing about online is you can view them at your leisure. I bought a portable net and mat, and I was off to the races! Based on online videos, I managed to go from the mid 100's to the very low 80's. My 2022 goal is to break into the 70's.

That was my experience with certain others as well, but not there.
