Since roofs last about 12-15 years here, I guess we will find out how unhappy we will be eventually…Have always felt that insurance is a legal, rip off industry. They love to take your $ but not pay out. |

Recommend Farmer’s Valentino Agency
I switched from Tower Hill when another firm bought them out and tried raising my premium by approximately $470 (to cover costs of the merger?). Recommend Farmer’s Valentino Agency at 15268 Fishhawk Boulevard

We have been with Progressive for almost 7 years, 2600 sf and got a new roof with insurance. Over that time our rates have gone up a total of $112 to approx $1,200 a year. I don't understand all these posts about paying huge premiums. Do the homework and shop the rates.

I also had Tower Hill. With no claims, they increased my bill from about $1k to ober $1,600. I dropped them & went to All State, saving a few hundred dollars! And they were pretty much exact same coverage!

All state
I left villages progressive for same reason. I went with all state. Her name is Felicia she is on Main Street in wildwood. A delightful young lady took really good care of us. She bundled every thing. Golf carts cars and house. All three were less than my house insurance with tge other company with the same coverage.

I don't understand why the roof issue in Florida is so hard to address. It's not like liability that could run into the millions. Seems that insurance companies could offer people larger deductibles just for the roof to reduce the insurance cost. It's a more or less fixed cost to replace a roof, and at some point, I'm going to have to replace it anyway. Why not bank the money vs paying it out in insurance premiums for coverage that I might never need to access? Too many people look at their insurance as a maintenance program.

either you have a personal home or a rental, its not both.
insuring the house between the two, the roof will make no difference, however, the type of rental may make a difference, ie furnished or not furnished, and long term versus short term. slumlord guy |

Travelers writes a lot of business in this area, not on the coast. Mine costs about a $1000 a year. Get the higher liability limits, $300000 because of all the advertising attorneys we see every night during the news programs. Also a Umbrella limits of $1,000,000 is better still.
