Default Homeless for 60 days

Well we finally did it! Sold our home in Utah very quickly, went on a 30 day cruise and then just drove here to The Villages into a two month rental. Purchased a courtyard villa in Pennecamp and will close on 2/2. It is so exciting to have a place. Fortunately we sold everything an only have our clothes and a few boxes of personal items.
We never had a doubt that we wanted to live here after spending two months here in July and August. Just went back home and put our house on the market. Life is good!!!!!!! Barb and Charlie

Congratulations, Barb and Charlie.

DH and I looked at CYV in Pennecamp in early December and would have bought that day if we didn't have to sell current house first. We really liked a Bogey CYV in Pennecamp, corner lot, large yard, next to a dead-end street, but someone has since bought it. Was it you? If so, you bought my dream house!

Best of luck in your new home. Our house is going on the market in 4 weeks and hope to join you soon in Pennecamp or somewhere close by.

Barb and Charlie, welcome we just might be neighbors in Pennecamp since we are building our new home over there. We close March 26th. We have been homeless and in a rental in Arkansas since Aug 1 and are looking forward to getting into our new home and unpacking all these boxes that are stacked up around here.

Thanks all for the welcome! We bought a courtyard villa on Adair Lane. All we are doing is running around looking at furniture, pots, pans, etc. It is a lot of fun. They make the whole transaction of buying a home so easy and painless. We still can not believe it. Looking forward to chatting again.

Wow it sounds as if you are both having a great time moving into this phase of your lives.

What I really want to know is: Where did you go on your cruise? Was 30 days too long? My husband keeps talking about going on an extended cruise one of these days, but I'm not sure I want to spend more than 14 days onboard a ship (let alone 20+ days which is what he's hinted at).

Welcome to TV! Are you going to join the TOTV group at Crispers this month?

We just started cruising about 10 years ago and of course the first cruise was 4 days, then 7, worked our way up to two back to back 7 days and from there we started only doing back to backs up to 14 - 28 days for when you pay for the airfare it only made sense to see as much as you can. Other people thought it was too long for they never did that many days. Suggest if you haven' t done at least 14 days maybe you would think it is too long but of course that is up to the individual. Lots of sea days.
Read about Crispers once for of couse we kind of were lurkers looking for info and only posted once in a while. If you could give us some info on Crispers, would appreciate it for we do get involved in quite a lot of things.

Happy to be in The Villages, this is day 4 an we already have gone to a house party, played pickleball, made some furniture purchases, etc. Seems like we have always lived here and love every minute. Can not wait just to settle in new CYV and have a place to call our own, sit down, put our feet up on the furniture, nice drink and then truly enjoy!

Thanks for the cruising info. I do think it would be wise for me to work my way up to a longer cruise. Maybe we could plan for a 14+ day cruise next time and see how that went. One idea I like about the longer cruises is that they seem to stay at their ports for more hours or even overnight in some cases.

The TOTV Crisper's luncheons are held every 3rd Friday at 3:00PM. I only made my first one this past December since my husband and I recently arrived in TV as well. It is a good way to meet the people on this board and make some connections. The next luncheon is Friday 15 January at 3:00PM, hope to see you there.

Default Pure envy....

I know our turn will come but I read postings like yours and I wish it were
tomorrow. Enjoy it and love every minute of moving in. I spoke to people
who were permanent residents when we have rented and they never finished unpacking the boxes in the garage....to busy with new friends and activities.
Congrads again to you both!

Julie - Will most likely be at the Crispers luncheon! Hope to see you there

Jeanne - In July and August we stayed in the Sullivan Villas in Poinciana and that is when we decided the Villages is where we want to be.

Judy - Hope to meet as soon as we get a little organized. It will be great to meet someone that has lived in Utah. We really enjoyed living there.

We are having so much fun in spite of the cold weather. Actually it is nice to just chill on the cold evenings!!!
