Default Inside the Villages

Hi, I am reviewing The Villages as a possible retirement place. I plan on purchasing an inexpensive home (no mortgage) but wondering about other fees. I have read about bonds, curious about HOA fees, and costs such as groceries being more expensive in the Villages, and restaurants etc? HOA fees cover what? What is an example of additional expenses: mandatory and or optional? If I was interested in exercise classes how expensive /inexpensive are the extracurriculars? Single and concerned about my expenses. The homes seem reasonable but what else should I be concerned about?
Are indoor animals allowed? (2 cats as they are my substitute kids?)

You may want to consider our EBook "Don't even think about moving to the villages until you read this book." It's only $9.95. You can view more information here https://www.talkofthevillages.com/delivery/

Another good resource for answers to your questions is in the Nuts and Bolts section at the bottom of this forum. Good luck!

Default You are going to love it here!

You will love it here.

Country club restaurants are reasonable in price, most of them, Maybe not Lopez. The amenities fee (not hoa) is about 135 a month. You can buy an older house with the bond all paid. If you join the gym there is a charge, but none for walk away the pounds etc at the rec centers. You can have two pets. We have TWO cats and their names are Mikey, Harry and Hershey.

Welcome...come on down and see!

I live in The Village of LaZamora, Lady Lake. On closing in 1999 we paid impact fees, but no bond. From my knowledge, homes in Sumter County especially south of 466 have bonds and some are $30/40,000 which most people pass it on to the new owner.

We have amenities fees which vary. Ours is $120.00 Monthlywhich covers executitive golf and all recreation activities including exercise classes. Indoor animals are allowed (I believe max of 2).
