It would take up too much room putting then on the garage floor.
I assume having some kind of storage in the yard would not be allowed.

Any ideas how I can store these kayaks?

We hang them from the ceiling.

Try a “bump up”. Cut out the ceiling between studs. Frame a box support for the kayaks above the cut out, seal it with drywall for fire code, and install your pulley system on the new box. This assumes your boats will fit between the ceiling joists. If not, you have an engineering project of a bit more complexity.

This is a very cool idea that would result in a very finished, recessed storage option. It would take some serious work, but it would be a great winter-time project (no one wants to work in the garage in the summer, lol). Just have to carefully pick your bay to make certain it would fit - no electrical, cross members between rafters, etc. Also, check if your kayak is too wide for the 24" on center standard for rafters.
