Default lawsuit protection

Hi all,

I am considering a purchased to lease out and use on occasion to get my feet wet before deciding if we want to move to the Villages permenantly. How do the people who rent out their homes protect themselves from potential renter las suits? Form a LLC? Extra insurance? Will the real estate agents guide you in this? Thanks for any advice!

TV has a property management division who can certainly explain this better than I could ever hope to do. They'll also manage your property (for a cut of the $$ of course) but seem to do a nice job.

You have liability with your own homeowners insurance don't you? We have the same for our rental.
