Welcome to paradise! Not sure if moderator allows members of TOTV to leave private messages that would be "debateable", hmmmm!

He can't RE-state something that hasn't been stated.

Perhaps he used the word "debate" instead of the word "discuss". You know - like neighbors in Florida's friendliest hometown are wont to do.

Why not just take him at his word - he'd like to join in the discussions/debates that are part and parcel of this forum. Roundabouts, dog poop, etc.

There was a retired labor lawyer on here but I have not seen him post in a few years. Knew him in person too I think but am not sure. He was involved in collective bargaining and the like. Unfortunately, he might have moved out of the area or passed.

Perhaps, I am guessing, because in debates you show an undue advantage? (Like a math prof at a casino.) Very clear, to the point and logical.

It's an introduction, a short background of myself, nothing more.

BTW, I've blocked several posters, you know who you are. Right out of the gate you've shown an open hostility towards me personally that has no place on an open forum. Perhaps those involved should open their own forum elsewhere. I believe in an open debate without back handed compliments, mean sarcasm and the like. Now, it's time for my breakfast.

Actually, I like to meet people who will not be Bamboozled or bullied. I have yet to hear anyone say, “This man doesn’t have a clue”...lol.

I have had to block a couple of dozen of posters. Fortunately most of these seem to have been banned from Talk of the Villages.

Good to see you posting though.

I like to hear many different viewpoints on topics.

One of my BAs is in Philosophy so I had a lot of training in logic. The other BA is in history (both U of NV, Reno) which did emphasize the need to check sources and their reliability as well as bias. MA is in librarianship ( U of Denver). Then I got a JD from the U of MN after I had worked as an indexer/abstractor for Information Access Company in Belmont, CA. I mostly abstracted regional business magazines for Area Business Data Bank. Created catalog records for all the computer databases on Westlaw around 1988-1991 for a national project while employed by the U of MN Law Library. SUNY at Buffalo Law Library was doing LEXIS.

Also was a student and then student director for Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners for Minnesota Correctional Facility--Stillwater while I was a student at the U of MN Law School. And did reference work at the Law Library there too.

I am writing a book about what happened after that and leading up to events that occurred in New Orleans in 1991 and Reno in 1989 as well as Minnesota in 1990 and San Francisco in 1992. These are mostly connected to law library conventions and my forcing the issue of a niche I saw in practical information available to survivors/victims of crimes. Something I got interested in Reno in the last week of February in 1976 due to a widely publicized murder in Reno. Enough said. Many Villagers seem to know my story.
