Smile The Sold sign on our Ct. home went up yesterday

We did it..sold sign is up. Our closing is scheduled for July 18th. A few days after that we will be on our way to TV to choose a home for our lot on Edenville Path. We will be renting while the house is being built. We're so excited and blessed that we sold here so quickly. The best is yet to come....
See you soon.

Wow! congrats on your sale.

Lets hope the good karma will follow in to July for other TOTV members who have their homes on the market.

Default Congrats on the sale

We too have "sold" our house in CT. We've passed the septic inspection, the radon inspection, the home inspection and have signed contracts with the buyers for an Aug. 31 closing. The appraisal will be done tomorrow and assuming that number is okay, we have only to have the buyers get their mortgage commitment.

The problem in this buyer's market is that the buyers have you over a barrel once you've agreed to the deal. If something happens on the appraisal or the buyers don't get their mortgage approval, the deal is off and we will have lost almost 2 months of marketing time.

Being optimistic, I assume we will be in good shape with the appraisal and the buyers will be approved by mid- to late-July. We cleaned out a lot of stuff accumulated during 28 years as we prepped it for sale. Another smaller dumpster will be needed in early August to get rid of the rest that we or our children or charities don't want.

I will finish working on Sept. 29, my 68th birthday and we should be in our Buttonwood home by mid-October. We plan on being in TV at our house over Labor Day weekend so I can get a Florida driver's license and order a golf cart that will be ready when we arrive October.

We can't wait to be there at least 9 months of the year.

Hope all goes well for you. In this Buyers Market you are correct. Nothing is for sure until you finish at the closing. One more day and we cross that Hurdle . It has been an interesting trip selling the house here in RI. Best of luck to you.

Hi neighbor - we are building on Barksdale Dr. We have sold our home. Put it on the market the Wednesday before Memorial Day. Open house that weekend and we had three offers. Came to terms finally with one buyer and signed the P & S last week for a closing the first week in August. We can't believe our luck selling so quickly. We did price the house to sell however and in this market that is important. We are renting in TV until November while our house is being built. Looking forward to meeting all our new neighbors in St. James.

Default Holding your breath!

We feel your anticipation and anxeity. Our home is also under contract.

In this buyers market the seller is" Held Hostage" If one part of the sales chain goes wrong our dream of getting to TV is again dashed. And as you say your stuck with another two months of lost time.

In upstate NY you have a three month window of sales opportunity before another 9 months of winter depression. LOL

I hope your home sells and your good luck rub's off to the rest of us " Giving our homes away" so we may move to TV.
