Default Monthly costs lap swimming and Nautilus Equipment

My wife and I are thinking of moving to the villages. I swim laps in an indoor pool and we both use nautilus equipment. Will this cost extra in the Villages and if so, how much? I appreciate any help you can provide.

Yes there is a cost to using one of the 'gyms'. Figure around 35-45 per month depending on which one. The biggest and best is the MVP Wellness Center in Spanish Springs which is currently $39 per month. There are also several (3 currently) rec centers which also have weight and aerobic machines. Check out this site for more info: http://www.districtgov.org/departmen...sscenters.aspx

However you'll have to switch to the outdoor lap pools which are 'free' (included in your monthly amenity fee aprox $135) to residents. There are several scattered throughout TV. Check out this site for more info on sports pools: http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/a...es/recnews.pdf

Thanks Russ. So for the 2 of us it would cost $710 per year for the exercise equipment with no indoor pool. Are the outdoor pools heated?
Thanks again for your help.

In the winter the outdoor pools are heated. It's not needed in summer. Sometimes cooling would be better.

I am finding it hard to understand how everything works. I found references to country club memberships elsewhere in this website. What does that include? Is there someplace on the internet where I can see all the options offered?
Thanks.

You can find all you need about golf on: http://golfthevillages.com/index.asp

The site I provided earlier is great for all things related to the development districts (recreational, golf, government, ID cards, neighborhoods etc.) http://www.districtgov.org/

If these don't work just cut and paste into a new browser window.

Plus do a search on this site by using the search bottom above. A wealth of info from current and future owners over the past 3 years.

Good luck and shout back if you need more help.
