Default New Years Eve 12-31-14

Hi all!

We are in town under the lifestyle experience program from 12/29 thru 1/2. We were curious what New Years is like and if there is anything we should do proactively to experience the fun? (Reservations?) Does anyone know if the program plans things?

Thanks!

Hi again. Since our question is still unanswered, I did a little more digging. it seems that we need to keep our "New Years Eve" expectations pretty low. From what I can tell the Squares close at 9 pm. And other places may have reservations (like Katie Belles?). Does anyone have any information about fun things they did last year that would be open to new people that are visiting for the first time?

See post #3 at this recent thread:

New Years Eve

That would be a good way to meet some typical Villagers and they'll tell you why they like it here. The tickets probably are selling out fast if not sold out already.

Also, the town squares have good bands starting at 5:00 and it's fun on NYE despite the bands ending at 9pm. Then you could go other places.

Maybe the responses to your question are few because in TV, every night can be like New Year's Eve…at much lower prices and with people who are friendly and welcoming to newcomers.

Thank you, Sunnyatlast, for the link. We've been reading a lot of threads on TOTV and, frankly, we are a bit overwhelmed. I think we'll just play it by ear and see what happens. We definitely plan on talking to as many Villagers as possible during our stay.

This is an annual party, too, at Lake Miona Rec Center in the middle of TV:

Here is a video tour of the Lake Miona Rec Center:

We always went to City Fire. You do have to make reservations. Lots of fun, great music & a delicious buffet. We did it 7 years in a row.
This year, we have a good size group and we are just going to do a New Year's Eve Pub Crawl. Should be fun.
We'll see if we make it til midnight. LOL

Hi Bonnie. So, it's possible to just pub crawl without reservations? That sounds perfect for us to get our bearings. We haven't seen midnight in a few years, but with everything seemingly in walking distance (we'll be at a cottage), we might make it this year. :-) Thank you!

Yes. You can enjoy some music an the square and then just go around to the different bars. They'll be crowded, but fun.
There are so many outside bars in the squares that you can be outside and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

We have gone to City Fire the last 2 years. Last year and this years are in Brownwood.
All the guys wear tuxes (we were told we had to) and will be taking over the high tops at CF. Last year neighbors won a golf bag and slot machine. The first year my wife won $300.00 at the jewelry store.

Hi Mary Ann and Keith

I have 3 tickets for sale at cost $25 for the Lake Miona New Year's Eve Party if you want to go there for the festivities. The event has been sold out since the 3rd day of ticket sales. My company and I decided to go to Arnold Palmer CC instead.

We are also coming for our preview visit the 27th thru Jan 1. This sounds perfect. Thank you for the suggestion.
