Default Our first visit to the Villages includes a birthday

My sister and I will be coming down (from Wisconsin) to The Villages for the first time next week. We are so excited to visit and explore everything! My sister will be having a birthday while we are there. It's on Saturday, May 14. I'd like to surprise her with some plans for her birthday. Any suggestions as to what might be fun, or where birthdays are celebrated in The Villages? Day trips within driving distance of The Villages would also be considered. I appreciate your ideas

For your sister's birthday, I would suggest dining at Nancy Lopez Legacy Club. The food is excellent, service is excellent, and you can request a table by a window for a wonderful view.

As for day trips, there is the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa about 90 minutes away; St. Augustine (oldest city in USA) about 2.5 hours away, New Smyrna Beach about 90 minutes; Homasassa Springs State Park (great manatee viewing) about 60 minutes; Winter Park (home of the Tiffany Museum) about 1 hour; and of course - Orlando and all the theme parks about 1 hour.

Happy Birthday to your sis, and don't forget to tell her that on Birthdays here in Paradise a year is subtracted, not added! I vote for Nancy Lopez. Don't miss the mushroom soup. YUM!

Hi Debbie, welcome to TV... Let us know when you are here and perhaps we can meet you at the square for a meet and greet. You can PM me your schedule and we can try to coordinate it from there. Have a safe trip.....

Default Thank you for ideas

Thank you for the wonderful ideas. My sister is a casino nut so I think that is what we'll end up doing on her birthday. She is going to be SO surprised and excited! Maybe well try some of the other ideas another day. We are only going to be in TV for a week so won't have a lot of time this visit. But, assuming we are going to love TV I hope we'll be visiting again soon

Default Another idea

Another idea for a day trip might be downtown Disney. It is free and has several intersting places to eat, shop and some free entertainment and if you are interested you can take free shuttles from downtown Disney to Disney resorts or areas. to check them out for free.
