I’ve read several responses and they seem to range from opinion to people just making stuff up. If you want to know exactly what is done to a cart, ask the people that you’re buying if from. They will be happy to tell you everything that they have done to it. I’ve never bought one myself but I have several friends who and they are all happy with them. BTW $18,000 isn’t even on the high end of golf carts today. One lithium powered cart starts at $25,000

You can actually go to The Villages Golf Carts build shop off highway 44 and see exactly what gets done to make their carts remanufactured. Quite impressive actually. I can't imagine that anyone, anywhere does it better than they do.

Carts & Clubs in Ocala sells new several grand below what the villages does. They come to your location (home) to service the cart.

I can imagine the beating some of these remanufactured carts took in their short lifetime. Not all cart paths are as smooth as they are in The Villages. Was the oil changed at all when they were leased to the course? Maybe. Maybe not.

Yes, we used Country Village in Webster, 30 miles from Spanish Springs. Bought brand new 2020 Quietech for $12, 500 including the governors cut. At that time TV was selling carts in the $14,500 range.

This is NOT true with The Villages Golf Cars. If you:

a) Did not purchase your cart from them or
b) Purchased a used cart from someone that had originally bought it from them

They often will not sell you parts. It depends on their stock. Right now it is hard to get an OEM Yamaha drive belt for a Drive 2. When I went to The Villages Golf Cars, I was told they had them in stock, but since I did not purchase my cart originally from them it was not available to me. Their stock was limited and they were saving them for their customers that had directly purchased a cart from them. Interestingly however, I could bring my cart in and they would install it for me (they wanted $100 for the belt, and another $50-$70 to "check" my cart and install it.

I ran into the same thing with the new stiffener plate designed to fix the belt life issues. They only had them for their current customers. But, again, I could bring my cart in and for a $100 they would let me know if they could do it. It's a freakin $20 part that takes 10 minutes to install!

Because we live in a capitalistic democracy, thank God. Our president(s) have nothing to do with pricing. If this was Russia or China then you would get what you're asking for, and then some.

If the Yamaha logo is lighted in front then it is a brand new golf cart. If it is NOT lighted then the cart has been re-manufactured.

Was it equipped the same? Same seats? Same quality rain curtains?

Village Discount Golf Carts warrants their carts for 5 years.
Their response in excellent. Parts replaced in warranty with no issues what so ever.
They do stand behind what they sell.

Had all of the bells and whistles that a Villages Cart has, give or take. Did get upgraded middle range seats. Some were more and others were less. Curtains were Sunbrella fabric with upgraded fasteners. Larger tires and top of the line Yamaha wheels. At that time they took 2K off of the list price of the cart. At that time list price was +/- 10K. Modifications brought it up to $12,500 including governors cut. As an aside have only used curtains 4-5 times in 2 1/2 years. Never go out if rain expected or is cold(unless I am playing golf)

Agree ! Much cheaper, and not that much "technical" work, to add the "upgrades"...having said that, the PRICES in the various golf cart "goodies" retail catalogs we get in the mail have gone OVER THE MOON... like the price of eggs, hamburger, etc. LOL ! Still going to save $$$ by buying standard model and doing your own upgrades.

Great advice ! I think most people only see what they WANT to see, and only hear what they WANT to hear: refurbished sounds like "made new", and re-manufactured ? Well that "sounds" like a brand new cart at a bargain price. Having just had the wheel struts, bushings redone on ours ($560), I'd urge people to make that the focus of their inspection of any used cart they are considering....not base the decision on the nice condition of the seats or the battery that "looks" brand new. Just some suggestions !

We went into the Villages Golf Cars almost a year ago asking about used carts. The salesman reluctantly showed us a couple of not great ones that he was quite obviously negative about. He then sat us down and gave a big presentation about how the "best" option is buying a remanufactured Quiettech Yamaha from them is by far the best option. He showed us example prices on a 3 year old one and it was close to 20k before tax with modest add-ons.

We ended up just looking at the local FB marketplace and the classified on this site and bought a low mileage 6 year old cart for under $7000 that had over $2500 in add-ons when new (Sunbrella, upgraded wheels, upgraded dash, locking glove compartments, stereo, turn signals, etc). The couple didn't use it as much as most since they were not golfers.

We couldn't be happier with our purchase, and there were plenty of other golf cart deals around on used carts last Spring when the offseason was starting.

Smart move. "Refurbished" is simply a used cart, and you can get some great deals if you are patient and are willing to have some flexibility about options, color, etc.

Are they considered part of The Villages?
We were recently told that we can’t use the service areas in the Squares if we don’t buy at an actual Villages Golf Car store.
But that was just by someone walking out. The reps inside the store did not tell us that.

Me thinks what we got here is a case of pay me now or pay me later plus possibly all the aggravation you can stand. Who really knows the history of the cart before it's cleaned up??? It's a roll of the dice at best. Not for me, unless I knew the seller and the history of the cart first hand. Otherwise, it's new for me.
