Yes, do need to be in fiber optic area. Just need to watch bill for when discounts expire, call them and they put discounts back in.

Default Comcast updated dual-band router

Called Comcast a few weeks ago because our Internet speed was inconsistent, between 4-70 mbps and averaged 23. I assumed the speed varied due to network congestion because it had always been that way here in TV. The Comcast service rep suggested an updated router, a free upgrade. Today I stopped at Comcast in Summerfield and swapped out the router. Wow, I was surprised to see consistent Internet speeds now between 79-90 mbps. The old router was from 2010, which is not that old but what a difference with the new dual-band 2.4 and 5 MHz router. If you’re unhappy with your Internet speed, consider replacing the router.
