Default Rv parking

What are the rules regarding parking a recreational vehicle on the street in front of my home?

Where can I find the official rules?

Thanks

I think these were spelled out in the deed restrictions, however, my understanding is 3 days in your driveway, no idea of on the street, but you cannot block the street for emergency vehicles.

One of my neighbors that has an RV said you are allowed 3 days to load or unload.

That rule only applies to parking an RV on your driveway, not on the street. Here is the link.

VCDD Community Standards

The rule is:

"Campers, Winnebago’s, and other RVs are allowed on the driveway not to exceed 72 hours (3 days) provided they are not plugged in or inhabited. This allowance is made in an effort to accommodate the packing and unpacking of the RV."

If you live on a county street, the county makes the parking rules. But, if you live in a courtyard villa area, the deed restrictions prohibit an owner from parking any vehicle on the street at any time. Only visitors are allowed to park on the street.

You can park an RV on your driveway for 72 hours. See Post No. 5

Read your deed restrictions. They were part of your sales documentation.

If its out of town guests staying at your home just needing a place to leave their RV, the regional rec centers will let you park there with a permit (from the rec center office where you get guest passes) There is a limit on permits so request in advance. No ability to plug in their refrigerator, obviously. Good Luck.

There have been other Threads regarding parking RV’s in the street. As I remember, you can park in the street as long as the RV doesn’t impede emergency vehicles. Of course, your neighbors are likely not to like it!

Also read the "external" deed restrictions, which I don't think are part of your sales documentation. Here is the link.

VCDD Community Standards

And, read the county law for your county regarding parking on the street.

Do you have a source for that information? The Villages allows 72-hour RV parking on your driveway, but not on the street. I cannot find any county ordinance that allows RV parking on the street.

There is no county ordinance that disallows it as long as emergency vehicles are not impeded.

Not to hijack this thread but I have a related question. We're here with a class B+ motor home for the month of January. I have a spot reserved at Fort Knox but was wondering if since my RV is my primary vehicle (I have no other vehicle) could I get around the 72 hour rule and keep it in my driveway. It is only 24 feet and does not stick out into the road.
