Clearly with just the garage door up you will get better airflow.

However given the incidence of critters human and animal I would not suggest leaving the overhead garage door up for very long.

So we purchased an overhead screen door from Thumper to provide light and better airflow.

Thumper has been very very good to us

Honest guy and we like his product

I am glad you asked because like all matters in life things change and what was once good may in fact have worsen. so a repeat of the some of the same topics is beneficial. This is one of them

Personal Best Regards:

We put them in so my wife could back through them and destroy them. Backed the golf car through them 3 times and was able to straighten them out and put them back up. But then when she backed the car through them and ran over them they were finally junk. Threw them away with trash pickup day. So some people should not have screens on their garage doors.

Let air in, keep temp down, animals out.
If you want it for air flow through the house you can also get a screen the rolls out for the front door. The screen goes left to right and you might not even notice it.
I would get a roll up and electric for the garage.

I backed into new screen twice. Twice for my wife, and once for my daughter. Vendor fixed all five times for $35.00 each(a bargain). No mishaps for about two years now. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

I love the garage screen on my villa here. I wish they would become popular at my second home on the Jersey Shore! The heat in a closed garage in the summer is stifling!

LOL -- I commend your wife on both her persistence and consistency. You truly are a lucky man.
