Do you want a passenger's or driver's response?
The amount is what you felt the driver did to earn a tip.

Well, what would the driver expect as a decent tip?

After retiring I did this for a couple of years before moving to TV full time. I never expected any tip I was getting paid to drive. But I did go to the front door and tell them I was there to pick them up and I carried and loaded the luggage. The same at the airport I would unload and help them with curbside check-in. Most of the time I only had 1 passenger between Springfield Il and St Louis Mo. about an hour and half trip. Most of the time I would get $5 to $10 tip. Sometimes no tip or a couple of dollars but it didn't matter because I never expected anything at all.

I usually give the driver $10. Once I did not tip at all because the driver got lost AT THE AIRPORT and caused a lengthy delay.

We've had about 6 round trips, sometimes just us as a couple, and sometimes with 9 and 5 year old grandsons. All the drivers we've had are amazing. We tip $5.00 per suitcase.

Our experience with the trip is more than a pick up and delivery, it's been learning about The Villages and its an educational experience.

I tip $5.00 as well. I've always had very nice drivers too. I only carry a very small carry on too.
