Default trying to move to tv

You guys are killing me. I've been trying to move to tv for 2 years. Just found this site. I can't sell my property in Colorado due to bad real estate market. I hope tv is all I think it is. I'm having a mid life crisis a little late. My wife died and I felt like tv was a place a guy could make a new start. Everyone seemed nice. almost to nice, I was looking to see where they inserted the computer chip to say I'ts a beautiful day in the villages. Reading the forum answered one of my questions but from a guys point of view. I'm hoping there might be some single ladies around. That stuff still seems a little to creepy to me now. but someday who knows. Anyway I envy you guys. your lucky. Wannabe villager benj,

Have you actually BEEN HERE? It speaks for itself. It really IS too good to be true. I really did not want to retire. I really did not want to retire to FLORIDA. This is the best thing since canned beer!

benj, you said "My wife died and I felt like TV was a place a guy could make a new start."
Although my first wife died some time ago and I remarried prior to moving to TV, I can emphasize with you.
My personal opinion is TV would be wonderful place to make a new start.
Hint: I "found" my second wife at my church. She is a treasure!! I tried a bar, a real high class bar, once and was completely turned off by the experience.

Downeaster, Thanks for the tip. I'm pretty sure a bar wouldn't work for me either. I'm in Colorado trying to get to TV . I feel like I'm bolted down here. I hope to meet someone to share my life with, it may sound strange but I'm afraid if I met someone here it might interfere with my plan to move to TV. I'm betting everything on getting to TV, job, retirement and happiness. If I meet someone there she will already have bought into the TV lifestyle and everyone I've met there at least had experiences similar to me and might feel about things the way I do. God I hope so. Being alone sure sucks.

Yeah Benj, about that "inserted computer chip" !! LOL!

I had the same feelings when I first visited here a couple years ago. My two RE agents (with TV sales office) were 2 perfect-looking women who were so gorgeous in every way and so cheerful all the time! It made me a little scared and suspicious, and also made me think "Wow this seems SOOO much like The Stepford Wives, a book I read back in the 70's I think.

But it's all true, it's a great place!! Better for men than women though, because you guys have it made here. I heard that for every one guy in TV there are 8 women. Don't worry, you'll meet someone. There are many really good, honest, wonderful women here. But please try not to feel so anxious about meeting someone. Just relax and take your time.

While you're waiting for your house to sell, go down to your local Arthur Murry or some similar place, and take some dance lessons. Then practice at home by yourself at first (that's how you get really good!), then practice with other students there. You'll have less trouble meeting women here if you can dance. Just MHO

Or if that doesn't interest you, try to find a hobby that you can share, if you don't already have one, so you'll be ready!! That will help you meet and mix with everyone after you get here. IMO... You'll love it here! Good luck!

Your post inspired me to make my first official post. I am helping my mom (a widow of last June) pack up and move this month to TV. I am thinking a lot of people (or more than she and I originally thought) move down there to have a new start on life after becoming a widow. She first thought she would be the only single down there for a 100 square miles, but after this 2nd trip, she is starting to discover that there are people like her, looking for a fresh start. I am hoping she finds lots of single and married lady friends and really gets plugged in pretty quick. She won't even entertain the thought of dating yet, but I'm hoping as she gets settled she discovers there is a lot of life to be lived yet. Right now though, I think she is doing best by taking one day at a time.

I wish you the very best, and hope all your dreams come true in TV, or wherever fate might bring you.

Hi Benji,
I know were your coming from and I too am trying to sell my home here in Ma, and start the rest of my life in TV. I have faith and believe it will happen soon. My best wishes for the rest of your life and maybe we could meet in TV when we get there.

Benj...... HELLO! I guess we're in the sam boat My FSBO has been on the market for a while with no interest and I just can't/won't sell for less than I paid for it 3 years ago. So, I'll be a wannabee hanging around TOTV until the real estate market improves :dontknow:

In case you haven't looked, there is a SINGLES forum with lots of good tips on life in TV with mention of the many clubs available. Overall, this web site is wonderful in its educational and inspirational content for that "new life" we seek ;D

coneyisbabe. I've been looking at the singles forum but it seems like there isn't alot of talk on the site. Being single seems foreign to me but I better get over it. I don't even like going on the site sometimes because it classifies me in a way I don't relate to. On another subject, Your photos of wherever you live remind me of when I lived in Michigan and Wisconsin. Colorado is even prettier the vistas are breathtaking and we still have snow on the mountains but the fall colors cant hold a candle to a fall deciduous forest. Just think how many new villagers there are going to be when this lousy real estate market changes it's tune. jmemc46 is going through the same thing as we are WANNABE VILLAGERS.
