You’ll never catch me in a Starbucks. And it’s definitely not because you put your feet on a table. That company hates police, they hate the military and they are anti American. They have been like that since they started.

No more espresso for her!

I agree and Starbucks coffee and their high prices are horrible too!

I agree. Very openly and one-sided political positions. In your face right in their locations. I avoid them whenever possible.

And in my humble opinion, their coffee sucks! Overpriced and too strong

jimkerr 08-25-2021 07:59 AM

Putting your feet on a table at a place that serves food and drinks is disgusting. People put their food there and Lord know where your feet have been. GROSS!

That's really disgusting, putting your feet on a restaurant table. Were you brought up in a barn? Good for "Karen" as the song in Chicago says, "He had it Coming."

donassaid 08-25-2021 08:19 AM

Sometimes, people who act irresponsibly, rudely, un sanitarily, and selfishly need to be called out. I called out a young man recently at the Orange Blossom pool after he, not once but twice, spat on the tile where people walk. There are too many self entitled people here as is evident every day when people leave their grocery carts all over the parking lot at Publix and Walmart.

hmmm just in the last year they gave out 9 million for Covid to different groups and contribute to over 200 charities , they must like some one,and besides they give you a nice place to have a cup of coffee and there plain black coffee is not expensive and better then most and the specialty drinks just like higher end dining if you get what you paid for then it was worth it

I don't do Starbucks because of the flavor of the coffee. I like Turkish coffee and I like Dunkin's coffee -- two extremes of strength. Starbucks always has a burnt taste to me, and the cost of a cup is high.

Then again, I must be an outlier as they seem to do well without my support.

You did the right thing & apologized, but I agree this lady had no right to curse you out, it just shows that this lady was probably brought up this way. If you would of said she didn’t curse you, it might been an “Atta Boy for this Lady”. I only say that because with the Covid being more contagious, your shoes could of been very contagious. You were in a public place, not in a barn! You should of been told not to put your feet on a place where other people eat or drink coffee & this lady should been more of a lady than some cave man. Have a great day Keeferinspace!

EXACTLY!!! Who does such a thing? At first when I started reading this post I thought it was going to be a funny story how ....well, maybe the heat got to someone and they went off. I don't even know the story yet, but.....your feet up on a table where others are going to eat??? Are you kidding me? Your dirty bottom shoes resting on the edge of it??? No way!! Who are you? So many older folks down here complain that the "younger" ones have such a sense of entitlement....well this takes the cake!!
You could of walked thru dog poo and not known.
I would of been majorly upset also.... whatever was said....was well deserved.

Ok ok.....I digress, you were sooooo wrong, but you publicly apologized, she probably felt bad for yelling and also feels bad.......lesson learned

I agree but you shouldn’t put your feet up on a table. Other tables may not be any cleaner but that’s just an assumption. Nobody knows that for a fact. But don’t put your feet on a table with other people watching, do it at home if you think it’s a cool thing to do. This lady could of made her point without the cursing!

Ridiculous

coffee can have a different affect on people....especially when you order a super sized latte mocha and it is shaken not stirred...

I saw it happen once in the airport...it wasn't pretty

it's almost as frustrating as trying to get out of Kabul

I cursed 2 women this morning when they conveniently pretended they didn’t see their dog poop and started to walk off and leave it there ! I have little tolerance for bad pet owners. I watched them they stopped let the dog do his business thought no one was paying attention . Then started with excuses when confronted I called BS . They probably didn’t like it but just like this woman made an impression. Bet ya don’t put your feet on tables in public again. Hopefully they will pick up their dog crap from now on too!

Now Doc.

I kind of doubt that it happened like that. Maybe he was sitting on the table and he had a really prominent "plumber's crack".

We have to take what we read on this forum with a grain of salt.

He is new here. Maybe he is a kid and didn't get along with his grandmother, after he brought that girl home with the tattoo that said...."Go Michigan". You have to investigate the motive behind some of the ....uh.......unusual posts we read Doc.

I so agree.

My husband has had ample opportunity to curse at some women. He lives with me and it is not easy. I have NEVER, EVER, heard him use bad language to a woman. I do so like him and all of his friends who were raised the same way.

People who are legally licensed to carry a weapon have a lower crime rate than police officers. The person carrying a concealed weapon who isn't licensed is the one to worry about. In a lot of cases they have a felony criminal record and aren't legally able to carry or possess a firearm and they don't care about violating the law or hurting other people.

I saw a IHOP commercial on the television that shows a teenager stretched out with his feet on a chair eating with two friends. I guess they (HOP) want to start appealing to that younger demographic to be a kind of a hang-out.
You have to lead by example and that commercial wasn't it.

retiredguy123 08-25-2021 12:57 PM

If the woman was very angry and yelling, I would not apologize. She is the one who should apologize.

Nucky 08-25-2021 03:08 PM

How about a measured comment from the complainer.

A very good move publically correcting a mistake from the complaineeeeee.

Who was the lady, Mrs. Barney Fife? Check tour words and tone with strangers. You never know. :boom: :boom: Oooops.

Down through the years there have been a few incidents in TV where a licensed gun carrier pulled a gun on someone and threatened him. Most of them were road rages inside TV, although one was someone pulling a gun on his neighbor's landscaper.

I would not respond to some enraged person in this day and age, no matter how right s/he or I was. Calling them out on TOTV is a lot safer.

I commend you for your owning up to being wrong with putting your feet on the table and for wiping it down with sanitizer. I once saw a man put his dog on a table at Publix where customers and employees sit to eat lunch. When he left I told an employee about it and they cleaned it off. I wonder how many times that has happened and no one told an employee about it so they could clean it off.
