Default Villages 1st timer

We will be renting in the Villages Jan to Mar 2009 near the Nancy Lopez Golf Course. I understand it takes about 3 weeks before mail from your home state is successfully received in the alternate address (The Villages). What are your suggestions on how to handle this? Can we rent a PO box ahead of time? Are the mail boxes locked so that if mail is received prior to our visit no one could access it. Thanks for the info.

Hello CT golfer, I do not have any answers to your inquiry, but as fellow CT golfers who are also renting first time in the villages first time(Duval) I am interested in the replies. Thanks for making the post,

Don't know where you got the 3 weeks from it's been a while but I don't remember it taking more than 10 days. The mail boxes are locked they will start a separate box for you if the quantity doesn't fit in the mail box. Don't forget to get the key from the owners.

We rented last winter for the first time. I had my post office begin forwarding my mail from the date we left our home. It did take about 10 -14 days to receive my first mail. I then had the post office "hold" my mail starting about 2 weeks before I was to return home. It actually worked out fine.

I can't answer the postal questions because I live here full time. I am assuming CT stands for Connecticut - I am from from Enfield. Where will you be in The Villages? I am near Nancy Lopez. I have lived here for 5 years and love it. Welcome!!!

Degraafe,

We did the same thing this winter, and it worked out great.
