Smile The wait is driving me crazy!!!!

To all the folks who are waiting to sell before they can move to TV. I FEEL YOUR PAIN!! Reading TOTV is keeping me sane, however, the discussion of the fires lately has me worried. I wonder if there is a way to protect oneself from that problem. On the positive side, We have two people thinking of leasing our home, which the realtors say might be the most desirable option since until the market rebounds. We also had an Open House today and one couple loved everything about it. Prayers for a contract are being sent upward. My question is this. Has anyone had a particularly good experience with their sales rep? I am afraid that when we finally get down there for house hunting I may need one with a counseling degree as well. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you who have kept me from going over the edge. TY TY TY

Hi Salybow,
I know how you feel. We have about 2 1/2 years 'til DH retires. We are so looking forward to living in TV. Whenever we have the chance to go, I drink the kool-aid all over again.

BUT... when I was growing up, whenever I just couldn't wait for something to happen, my momma always said, "don't wish your life away". The older I get, the more I realize how smart that was.

So my wish for you-- in addition to the couple buying your house-- is for you to relish the anticipation without letting it drive you crazy. Don't forget how fortunate you are right now, right where you are.

Here's wishing you all the best.

Pturner

p.s., Let us know when you sell your house so we can feel your joy and excitement.

Default We finally sold our home

It took 8 months, 45 showings and two failed deals but our home is finally sold. The only way we sold it was to keep lowering the price until we started getting offers. Keep at it. We ended up selling it to a couple who viewed our home 3 months ago. spent a total of 10 minutes walking around and did not ask any questions when they left. Our experience has been that many buyers have been looking for up to 10 months (like ours were) and are only now making offers to get in under the deadlne for the expiration of the fedferal tax credit.

Well we sold it and are talkng to movers but now that the excitment of our June (and two other) visit to the Villages has worn off, we are unsure if the Villages are for us since we both work full time and cannot retire for 7 more years. We had already picked out the model home we wanted during our last visit and have been working with a Village real estate agent for the last few months. All that was left was to pick from the available new homes when we get there. Now that we have had time to see homes outside of the Villages and found that for the same money we could get a lot more, our plans have changed from a definate move to TV to a maybe. We now have to start our home hunt all over again once we get to Florida.

As I said in another post, we love the idea of the Villages but we will be giving up a better home to live in a place were we cannot enjoy what we are paying for because we have to work full time for at least 7 more years. Then there is the bond fee.

Saly, Pturner gave you excellent advice. It is very hard I know to look forward to something, but today is a wonderful day for doin' whatever it is you are doin'. I remember when our Helene was little and we were on vacation and right in the middle of a fun activity she would ask "What are we doing tomorrow?". I spent my time waiting looking at decorating magazines and shopping for accessories and making curtains and painting pictures for our new home. I also bored my friends to death talking about TV.

You will see that dream come true....very soon, and we all hope to see your happy face all the time, living your dream, but don't throw away today.

Default IT Worked

As we speak we are probably firming up a deal to rent to a PHD from So Africa who is doing research at the EPA in our area. I guess my primal scream helped. You advice was right on and I am embarrassed for whining. It is actually not like me but between my move and helping my daughter and her 5 children move to Evansville IN for a new job for her husband, I am not my self. They are living here for 3 weeks and we need to be packed up by May 1st. This should be interesting!!! Praise the Lord!!

Well, The PHD deal fell through so I do not have to be packed up until May 24th. We leased it to a lovely couple this afternoon. I have spoken to the people at TV and they are trying to set up a time for us to come down there on a Lifestyles visit to find a home. Bobby Gulati was the agent and he made me feel that I would be in very good hands. He answered a lot of questions that have been gnawing at me. I am so much more at peace! I don't know what we will buy or when we will move but some of the uncertainty has been settled. God is so good to me!!!!

"Amen, your preaching to the choir" was a favorite saying of a friend of mine.

I hope to be in TV ASAP.

Best of luck moving to TV. I know you will feel better living in paradise.
