These villages were originally to be for families that worked within The Villages; however, the homes are now available for any family (whether you work here or not).

Hope this helps.

Good advice.
It is after all a 55+ retirement community.
There are family pools for when family, kids and grandkids visit.
I'm sure I'll get flamed but I didn't move here to have children living next door.

Eddie,

We rarely agree but I'm with you on this one. So we may go down in Flames together.

Me too. I love kids, but here I don't want to worry about them anymore. I wouldn't want my children and grandchildren living here with just older adults.

I love seeing the grandkids in the squares and the joy on the grandparents' faces when they're driving around with their grandkids. I also like knowing they're just visiting.

The other day I was weeding a yard and a little girl about 2-3 years old across the street was havng an uber tantrum. My first thought was I was so glad to not have to live in this neighborhood. My second thought was at least they know the little one will be gone soon and not there permanently.

While there are some things for kids to do here, I don't think they would enjoy it on a day-to-day, year-to-year basis. No matter what, it is a retirement community and geared to that -- places close up early (too early in my opinion), people go to bed early, the pace of life is slow, kids will be reported if going too fast or having music too loud. I can't imagine many kids be very happy living here who are over 5.

So, guess we'll all go down in flames.

For me (and you'll probably think this is really strange) it's not so much the kids as it is their parents.

We were at the family pool, and the kids were just being kids, and then the parents started shouting at the kids. THAT's what really bothers me more than the kids whooping it up. Maybe I've lost the high pitched part of my hearing, but kids shouting and laughing and even having tantrums just doesn't seem to register with me... but then the parents get into the act and it's like fingernails on a blackboard to me.

Parents, please don't shout at your kids from across the pool to shut up, calm down, sit down, get out of the pool, or stop splashing.... Just walk over and quietly deal with it. Thank you very much.
Just my 2 cents.
