Default Your virtual neighbors from VA

Hi everyone,
My husband and I purchased a house at the Villages in 2007. We are not yet retired (but getting close by the hour LoL!) and enjoy every piece of it every time we come to visit.
We love the Villages and cannot wait to be full-time residents. We are looking forward to it. I am glad to see this site, which helps us to keep in touch and see so much through member's eyes.

All the best to you all,
Naly and Rick.

where in VA? We are in Northern VA and will be closing on our house in Fernandina in a month. Hope to make many trips to TV in the next few years before we can spend winters there.

Another Virginian and soon to be Villager. We bought in 2008 and have been snowflakes. Finally retired March 31 and just put the house up for sale this week. We are in Haymarket VA.

Nice and thanks for the notes! We live in Northern VA, in Fairfax.
Now, the hours could actually be "years". I believe my husband is giving me a great incentive (he is to retire before me and start swimming in our surroundings,at Mulberry Grove, daily). But I am making progress, initially set my retirement to 2024, then maybe 2021. What I thought would now be end of 2016 has a hopefully end of 2015. Three years is still a lot of time, and I hope to be able to visit more often until then to cheer us up to what wait for us. I can see a few of you are from close to our area. Enjoy this beautiful day! Cheers,

This is great! Wish you a speedy sale of your property in Haymarket. all the best! BTW, wine is one of my passions (and with the other one, which is cooking from scratch and love for ethnic food, we hope to meet new friends for enjoyable dine-and-wine activities at our home.

Hi Sara, we are in Fairfax. It seems Fernandina is a new area, as I saw quite a few members purchasing in that vicinity. Good luck with your closing. And yes, I have been to the Villages every year since 2003 (when I met my mother-in-law) and it is very nice to spend vacation around TV.

Default Northern Virginians

12ridehd. You say you currently reside in Haymarket. By any chance you live in the gated community of Piedmont? Although we didn't live there we were members of the Piedmont Club off of Route 15 for many years. When Route 66 became too congested we finally quit. If you do, then we had many friends there.

To other Northern Virginians, we are still snow birds. Just in case you don't know there are two State clubs in the Villages. One I believe is called Old Virginians and many are from southern areas. The more active is called Mid-Atlantic Club and includes Maryland, Delaware, DC and Northern Virginia. We belong to both but it would be nice if we had a group for Northern Virginians. Just a thought.

We live in Sterling VA, 5 miles from the airport. Looking forward to meeting all our new neighbors. If anyone want to get together in Northern VA send me a message.
