Default Fire Hydrant Exercising & Flushing

CH2MHill; the District’s Utility Operation & Maintenance contractor has begun fire hydrant exercising and flushing and will continue this project over the next few months.

Other than the inconvenience of water streaming from the diffuser at the hydrant, there should be no interruption in service, nor any adverse impact. However at times, flushing can cause a brief disruption of sediment in the lines and cause discoloration or “brown water”. If this does occur it should be temporary and resolved by running the tap for a few minutes until clear. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Bo Widman; C&D Manager with CH2MHill at 352-391-8097.
