Default National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

This month marks National POW/MIA Recognition Day where all American service members who have been taken as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action are honored. A ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, September 21 at the Veterans Memorial Park in The Villages, and all Villagers are welcomed to attend.

Guest speakers will include John Grant, a former POW who was aboard the USS Pueblo when it was captured by North Korean forces in 1968. In addition, John Bird will sing at the event.

The park is located in Spanish Springs on Lake Mira Mar between the golf cart bridge over U.S. HWY 27/441 and Paige Place. Seating is limited, and it is advised to bring chairs if you wish to sit.
