Default Sumter County Sheriff's Office Accepting Christmas Decoration Donations

If your storage is overflowing with Christmas decorations you no longer need, you have an opportunity this winter to declutter and help others have a memorable Christmas. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is accepting Christmas decorations from residents to benefit struggling families. These donations can be anything from Christmas tree ornaments to nativity scenes.

The donation period will last from November 19 - December 11. Once the collection period is over, everything will be transported to Sumter County Fairgrounds and sorted by volunteers to appear like a regular shop. Families who are invited will get to select items for free.

Theresa Cooper, the community outreach director for the sheriff’s office, expressed her gratitude towards area residents in a recent interview, “All of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office’s holiday outreach community programs would not be possible without the support financially and donations of area residents.”

Items for donation can be dropped off at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Villages Annex, 8033 E County Road 466, near the corner of Morse Boulevard. You can drop off donations during business hours, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
