Joe did serve both individuals and Penn State well. It is sad that his lefe had to end on a sour note. History will reflect on him well.

However as a society we all have an obligation to protect children as they would any protected species. A completed investigation will determine if Joe P did enough once he learned of the incident in the shower. Clearly many at Penn State knew Sandusky was a big problem. It should have been stopped then and there.

IMHO institutions such as the Boys/Girls Organizations, Churches, Schools,etc should have always had a zero tolerance policy for this sort of thing. Offenders should immediately be dismissed and prosecuted. I find it criminal for authorities in these type of institutions not to act immediately.
