Default Air Fryers? Good to have? Or waste of space and money?

Any information on air fryers would be appreciated.

If you wish you had never bought one, why?

If you have one you like, why, and what brand is it?

We are thinking about getting an air fryer, but also thinking that maybe they are not what they are cracked up to be.

Help, please.

Thank you.

My daughter has one and loves it. She says it is good for when you want things to be crispy but not fried.

I have a Power AirFryer XL and use it one to two times a week. It's basically a little convection oven and nice because it's a lot quicker and quieter than my wall oven. However, if I'm wanting to prepare multiple items it's not big enough for the two of us.

I'm happy with mine. I use it regularly for chicken breasts, salmon fillets and potatoes.

They have small countertop convection ovens that would accommodate multiple items but I think it would have to stay on my counter. I like having my counters clear so I store my AirFryer under the counter.

If I had it to do over I would not have picked a kitchen with a range top and wall oven. I think if I had a regular range I would not need another option to my oven because I wouldn't have the problem of an annoying noisy wall oven running so long to cool off after it's turned off.

We bought an air fryer at the urging of our daughter. So far, everything that we've prepared has been very good. We clean it after every use, so I probably wouldn't recommend using it everyday. It's not a brand name, but works very well. We bought it at Kohls when we had 30% off plus extra savings in my wifes Kohls wallet.

I love it, love it. I bought the Oster at Walmart for $89. It is a very good size and it replaced my toaster oven because toasts, does convection, broil, bake, as well as air fry.

We have a 12 qt. air fryer oven that we got at Christmas time. Just this week we did a 3lb meatloaf and it came out perfect. We also do fries, frozen fish, tortilla shell pizzas and more. I love Winn Dixie's double dipped fried chicken , and now I'll put them in the air fryer and they come out better than when I first bought them in about 12 minutes (crispier, without that leftover taste). I think it's better than a convection oven because the circulation from the fan makes it cook faster and more evenly

Thank you, everyone. Sounds promising.

PS: Hi Nucky. I am glad you like your air fryer. But I must disagree about your switch plate screw lineup because I think north-south switch plate screws make me look taller.

Btw, I just learned that there are some people who make sure they are all diagonal. Seriously??? Can you imagine??? Ridiculous.

I recently heard about Torx head screws. I guess that design could be used to save marriages when a couple disagrees. Good to know.

Back to air fryers, now. Mr. Boomer is going to be happy to hear how much people like them. Thanks.

We have one...purchased a year ago during the holidays but it's NEVER been used!! I was ill so didn't try it at the on-set and then...just didn't get around to it. I'd sell it if anyone is interested! My "buyer's remorse" came too late to return it!

Darn it, after reading through this thread I think I have to get one. Greaseless cleanup is so appealing!
