Dang, well I’m never gonna get married again. Wait😩 I said that last time 😭

A comedian, after getting his fifth divorce, was asked if he was going get married again. He said:

"No, I think I'll just find a woman I don't like and buy her a house".

Doesn’t how long the marriage lasted have an effect on alimony payments ?

Are you kidding. The administration is looking under every rock to find more money for their give away plan. And your asking this…common man.

I agree, especially since he can't divert that money to an investment that could minimize his taxes on it. He must pay his maximum marginal tax rate on it and send the money to his ex-spouse. Not fair.

I agree, not fair. Mrs. Jones, whether via child support or alimony has an "income" provided by another entity (Mr. Jones). She should be responsible for the taxes same as any other household receiving an income.

The law that changed the deductibility of alimony was passed without support of the party now in power by the previous one and signed by the former President.

It may be semantics, but, Mr. Jones is now paying tax on $100,000 instead of $85,000. So, I am sure that he feels like he is paying tax on the alimony payments.

One of the inequities about alimony is that Ms. Jones can move in with a guy who makes $500,000, and still receive the alimony, as long as she doesn't get married.

That is why in my divorce I put wording that stated if my ex established a long term relationship (common law) more than 1 year it would be deemed as a marriage and that support would be terminated. This was so that it would prevent my ex and her new boyfriend from ripping me off every month.

How dare you eliminate one more thing that so many manufacture as a reason - to become irate and hateful about? You're no fun.

If mr jones pays enough taxes he can qualify for medicade.
