Default Did your crown molding joints crack?

For those of you who have used Creative Finishes for your crown molding, did the joints crack and have to be fixed? The reason I ask, we had an 'un-named' business (NOT Creative) do ours. It's been a month and all the joints and seams are cracked and pulled apart. The owner has assured us that this is normal and was to be EXPECTED. He is coming over to fix, but I'm wondering if others have had this problem or is he feeding me a line??? Thanks

We used Creative.... One joint in a corner of the master bedroom...the caulking is split a bit...just a caulking touchup is needed. No problems with any of the wood.

Otherwise, all of the joints are good as new...just under two years after installation.

Are you saying the actual wood molding is cracked or just the caulking in the joints?

Sorry for the confusion, no the molding isn't cracked, but just about every seam in this house is cracked and has to be re caulked :-( The guy keeps telling me this is 'normal'. Never had the problem 'up north', but I KNOW this isn't 'up north' that is why I was asking what others experience has been.

We have had crown molding installed in two homes in TV. In the first, the seams and corners did crack. Did not look good at all.

We asked about that before we had crown installed in the second home, and was told it was in the installation. Our second home has no cracks after 5 years, where the first home had cracks within months. A different person installed each home.

Ours were installed by the builder. Looks great. Little over three years.

Could be the house settling but I use to glue the joints to prevent that

We used creative and many of the seams needed to be redone and they came and did it twice at no charge over at least a year and that was four years ago and we've had no problem sinceq I think the house has settled for now.

Used Creative ..no cracks...still like new. I agree with above, your house may be settling unless it is a bad job. If it were my house, I'd ask them to fix it.

I cannot praise creative finish more, we left for breakfast and when we returned, the entire house was done including the bathrooms. There was one seam but we have never found it!
