Default The American Legion Summer 2017 Convention

National Convention: Reno, Nevada | The American Legion

Reno offers gaming, shopping, golfing and much more | The American Legion

This is from August 18-24, 2017. National Convention | The American Legion

The Biggest Little City | The American Legion

I have not been to Reno, Nevada since 1994 (an interview with the Washoe County Law Library) but lived there from January 1970 through Memorial Day of 1983 and then a few days after I got back from Denver to help my parents move from Reno to Scottsdale, AZ in June of 1984.

I wonder how many TOTVers will be going to the American Legion this August? I did attend the American Association of Law Libraries convention of the Summer of 1989 in Reno, Nevada after graduating from the U of MN Law School that May. Took about a 6 mile walk one morning skipping the AALL convention while there to trace some of bike trips I had taken while a teenager and under 24 year old. My supervisor Gail Daly introduced me to the profession as the cataloger of all the WESTLAW computer files for a national project. A SUNY at Buffalo Law School employee was cataloging all the LEXIS computer files.

I will not be going, but I do wonder where 'inside the villages bubble' does the American Legion meet up?

Probably at the biggest American Legion Hall in the World in Lady Lake, FL. http://florida-legion.com/

I have some pet owning Veteran friends that go there quite often.

There are some views in and around Reno, Nevada that are quite spectacular especially around Lake Tahoe and on the road to Virginia City.

Default Mark Twain in Virginia City.

Mark Twain begins reporting in Virginia City - Jul 06, 1862 - HISTORY.com

Virginia City has some interesting history and tourist traps.

Mark Twain in Nevada - Wikipedia

The Bucket of Blood for instance is definitely a tourist trap but something to see. https://bucketofbloodsaloon.com/

is there any transportation to the Lady lake American Legion? Have you all being to Indianapolis, the headquarters of the American Legion. If you ask nicely, you can get a private tour of their museum that is amazing. Its a 10 where Eisenhower may be a 2. No disrespect to Eisenhower's Rec Center its just that much overwhelming.

Probably. My younger brother used to take a bus that picked people up and would take him to various places around and near the Villages. Transit | Sumter County, FL - Official Website

Public Transportation - Community Services

And the American Legion might provide something. My Dad was in Korea as a medic so he is in the American Legion but does not go to events there.
